He obtained a bachelor of science from the University of Maryland and a juris doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law. Prior to his appointment to the bench on November 7, 2016, he was a partner with the Rockford, Illinois, law firm of WilliamsMcCarthy LLP, where he was part of the firm’s litigation group. Assigned Docket Most of the civil cases filed in Boone County are initially assigned to Judge Balogh. Except when in jury trials, Judge Balogh’s weekly schedule is as follows: Monday: Judge set bench trials, hearings and pretrial conferences. Tuesday: Probate, guardianship and tax foreclosure cases in the morning Adoptions, foreclosures, and family law status hearings in the afternoon Wednesday: Status and motions in family law matters w/attorneys in the morning Status and motions in self-represented family matters from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Prove-up of judgments of dissolutions (divorces) from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Thursday: Judge set bench trials, hearings and pretrial conferences Friday: LA, CH, LM, MR and AR status and motions from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. Evictions from 10:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Judge set bench trials, hearings and pretrial conferences in the afternoon Courtesty Copies Do not send any paper to Judge Balogh.
